Jim Collins
'The Church Of Gary Numan: A Dark Celebration'

This is the first authorized, All-American tribute to the godfather of electronica. The brainchild of Jim Collins from Poland, Ohio, The Church Of Gary Numan is an outstanding album in every aspect. This much-asked about collection of Numan covers CD has just been officially released after months and months of hard work. This tribute CD is not only for Gary Numan himself, but is a work that comes from a fan and is meant for other fans to enjoy. A lot has gone into this project. Jim's main concern was to create a tribute that is a representation of the best that he had to offer, and after listening, I think he has succeeded admirably. Jim does just about everything on the album, all the vocals and all of the instruments. That in itself is an amazing feat.

If you've never listened to Gary Numan, and you wonder what kind of music he makes, it is a very unique sound that is difficult to describe in words. Numan, for the past two decades, was a major player in changing the face of modern music as we know it. Gary Numan is perhaps one of the most underrated musician in the field of darkwave, new wave, and electronica - but he is also the primary reason all bands in those genres reflect his ideas and cover his songs so frequently.

Over the years, several bands including Marilyn Manson have covered songs from Gary Numan albums, but Jim Collins has truly created a masterpiece. Without a doubt some of Numan's best songs are here: "Joe the Waiter", "I dream of Wires", "Cars", "Down in the Park", "You are in My Vision", and "I still Remember" are absolute classic Numan.

This is an essential album for Gary Numan fans, and a great CD all around, ...you'll enjoy it.
