Matthew G. Davidson If you would like to hear what a Latin Mass would sound like if it were updated with world and electronic music instrumentation, listen to Matthew Davidson's Blue Forest Mass. This dynamic reimagining of an old form is surprising and appealing in its originality. Forget what you think it should sound like or what you used to hear. Open up to a new experience and feel the energy pulse through the liturgy. Interesting that it took someone who isn't Catholic to breathe new life into the sacred music of their religious ceremony. But then again, you don't have to be Catholic to appreciate the magical sounds of Gregorian chants, any more than you have to be Hindu to like ragas, or practice Vodou to like drumming.
