Mark Biehl This is without a doubt one of the most dynamic, energetic, and positive instrumental albums I've ever listened to. Mark describes the 7 pieces as a collection of territorial adventures. It begins with the catchy hooks of "Belize". Dense waves of sound and powerful currents of rhythm drive resonant melodic themes which measure up favorably to the better recordings of Richard Burmer, Patrick O'Hearn, and Al Gromer Khan. The emotional spaces conveyed and felt cover many expressions. The beautiful "Euphrates" gradually establishes spatial melodies, offering poetic images through seemingly unlimited space. "The Treasure of Lima" evokes the magic of this ancient city, ending the album refreshed, revitalized, and purified by this powerful journey into visual inspiration. "Landscapes" is contemporary music with power, imagination, and heart. Through his music, Biehl presents the beauty of exotic places and the intimacy between mankind and our natural surroundings. The profound themes in Biehl's music recreate the timeless granduer of our planet. All in all a superb audiophile recording. Review by Ben Kettlewell information: |
