Tuu & Nick Parkin This is an ethereal album inspired by the hidden teaching of Tibetan Buddhism. The percussionist/composer from the duo Tuu, Martin Franklin recorded this collaboration with trance flute virtuoso Nick Parkin using clay pot percussion, and water drums to set the rhythm for Parkin's ethnic flutes. There are also bells, gongs, bowls, and dark electronics which add to the atmosphere to give it that Tibetan tantric feel. The treated instruments and ambiences show great expression through varied elements, occasionally rising from the darker side, which color and create this compelling and provocative music. It is a remarkable album of music that is primal and ritualistic in feeling and that directly communicates it's richness to and through the body of the entranced listener.
