Dan Tyack Modern pedal steel
guitar music is a refreshing change from grunge, pop, folk, country,
straight-ahead blues, and any other style you can name. Often drawing
heavily from Pentecostal Praise music which employs lap steel or pedal
steel-led combos, it is reaching a growing audience, and with bands like
this, it's easy to see why. The
lineup of the band varies based on the requirements of the gig (and
which members are in town), and has included guests such as Danny Barnes,
Amy Denio, Sarah Scott (of Two Lunes for Tea), and Michael Shrieve.
The Unsanctified Gospel
Revival brings together a collection of phenomenal musicians with a mission
to bring rockin' gospel music to a secular audience.I want you to get
up out of your chairs wherever you are right now, and visit the band's
website. Better yet, buy this CD! You will love it!

information:
The Unsanctified Steel Gospel Revival
The Unsanctified Gospel Revival is a collection of phenomenal
Seattle musicians from varied backgrounds. It was founded by steel guitarist
Dan Tyack, a musician with a background which ranges from playing the
Grand Old Opry to Carnegie Hall with artists such as Asleep at the Wheel
and Vince Gill. Dan has recorded
and toured with the Campbell Brothers, and formed the Unsanctified Gospel
Revival to bring the Sacred Steel musical message to the world.
This is a fantastic
album. You can buy right now at CDBaby, Amazon, the Steel Guitar Forum,
and better music stores. Besides the 10 tracks listed on the album, there
is a hidden bonus track that will knock your socks off. This is electrifying
gospel at it's best! The band does the finest rendition of Wayfaring
Stranger that I've ever heard. There are excellent treatments of
some real classics such as Motherless Child, sung by Yva Las
Vegas 9ex Sweet 75) Lean on Me, Will
the Circle be Unbroken, and one of my favorites, I shall be Released.
There is an amazing version of Carol King's classic - Way over
Yonder,
that will send chills up your spine with the riveting vocals of Sarah
Scott (Two Loons for Tea) accompanied by some of the most passionate slide
licks on this album.
The regular band members include:
Orville
Johnson, guitar, vocals ( Seattle legend, ‘the king of Mongrel
Folk’) and/or
Thaddeus Turner, guitar and vocals: (Maktub, Das Root)

Joe Doria, B3: (local jazz and funk master) or
